plasticizer
(1) citrate ester plasticizer
Citric acid ester plasticizer is synthesized from citric acid as the main raw material. The main foreign industrialized varieties are: tributyl citrate, trioctyl citrate, acetyl-tributyl citrate, acetyl-tributyl citrate, acetyl-tributyl citrate, and so on. Among them, triethyl citrate, tributyl citrate and acetylated citrate products have been approved by the United States FDA as non-toxic plasticizers.
(2) polyethers such as polyethylene glycol (PEG)
Polyether ester plasticizers such as polyethylene glycol (PEG) and polypropylene glycol (PPG) have excellent thermal stability and low volatility, and can be mixed with epoxy and polyester plasticizers. In the process of use, molecules will intersperse into the polymer chain segment, increase the movement space of the chain segment, reduce the force between the chain segments, and improve the processability of the resin. And give the resin flexibility.
(3) castor oil-derived ester plasticizer
Castor oil is a kind of viscous yellowish non-volatile non-drying oil substance obtained from castor seeds, which can be directly used as a plasticizer, and can also be pyrolyzed to obtain sebacic acid, and esterified with the corresponding alcohol to obtain a low-temperature plasticizer. In recent years, the representative variety is Grindsted Soft-N-Safe, an ester plasticizer developed by Danish Daniseo company using castor oil. The acetylated dimethyl ricinoleate plasticizer has been approved for sale and use in EU countries for high hygiene requirements and food contact polymer materials.
(4) Epoxy ester plasticizer
Epoxy plasticizer not only has plasticizing function but also is a good auxiliary stabilizer because it contains epoxy functional group in its structure. This plasticizer mainly includes epoxy neutral oil, epoxy fatty acid methyl ester and epoxy tetrahydrophthalate, which has good thermal stability and light stability. Epoxy vegetable oil plasticizers can be made from vegetable oil by epoxide, and the earliest and most widely used in industry is epoxy soybean oil (ESO). In recent years, due to the strict requirements for environmental hygiene, the production and consumption of epoxy ester plasticizers will continue to increase.
(5) Degradable polyester plasticizers
Polyester plasticizers are low molar mass polymers prepared by polycondensation of saturated diols and dibasic acids. Compared with small molecule plasticizer, it has the advantages of low volatility, low toxicity, high temperature resistance, solvent extraction resistance and difficult migration. At present, Germany's Lanxess Chemical has collaborated with BioAmber, a global producer of bio-based chemicals, to develop non-phthalate based plasticizers based on bio-based succinate.
(6) Phosphate esters
Phosphate ester is a widely used flame retardant plasticizer variety, such plasticizer has excellent flame retardant, durability, bacterial resistance and weather resistance and other advantages, belong to the multi-functional additives. The main industrial varieties are tritoluene phosphate (TCP), toluene diphenyl phosphate (CDP), diphenyl-octyl phosphate (ODP), tri(2-ethylhexyl) phosphate (TOP) and so on.
(7) isosorbate diesters
France's Roquette company, the world's largest producer of isosorbide, introduced a plant-based plasticizer named POLYSORB ID. The product can replace benzene-containing plasticizers from petrochemical products in equal amounts to achieve the same plasticizing effect. Yang Yong et al. synthesized isosorbide dioctanoate at the same time, and tested its plasticizing effect in PLA, and found that the effect of such plasticizers was significantly better than dioctyl terephthalate.
