Injection molding is a method of using pressure to press hot melt plastic into a metal model to cool and consolidate it, also known as injection molding or injection molding. Injection molding has a short production cycle, almost no post-processing, and can form plastic products with complex shapes and precise dimensions at one time. It has high production efficiency and is easy to realize automatic operation. It is suitable for the molding production of external packaging parts such as household appliances and office automation equipment, but the molding equipment and molds are relatively expensive.

There are many molding methods for plastic products, but in principle, these molding processes go through three basic stages: melting (plasticizing stage), flow (forming stage), and solidification (cooling stage). Plastic molding methods usually have the following types: compression molding, injection molding, extrusion molding, blow molding, calendering, lamination, etc. Injection molding is widely used in production.

The principle of injection molding is shown in Figure 5-16. Its working process is: heat the material in the barrel to a fluid (plasticized) state, then inject it into the mold with high pressure, let it cool, solidify or harden, and then open the mold Take out the molded product. The specific operation steps of this method are: mold closing, material injection, pressure keeping, cooling (during this period, the heating, plasticization and metering of the next injection material are carried out in the barrel), mold opening, and taking out the molding product, for the next injection molding operation.
