Commonly used route for machining parts on CNC lathes:

Commonly used route for machining parts on CNC lathes:

1. Roughing: Using a large diameter tool and a fast spindle speed to remove the bulk of material.

2. Facing: Using a smaller diameter tool and a slower spindle speed to clean up the faces of the part.

3. Turning: Using a smaller diameter tool and a slower spindle speed to produce the desired outside diameter and shape.

4. Profiling: Using a small diameter tool and a slow spindle speed to create the desired profile.

5. Drilling: Using a drill bit to create holes in the part.

6. Tapping: Using a tap to create threads in the holes.

7. Grooving: Using a small diameter tool and a slow spindle speed to create grooves along the part.

8. Threading: Using a threading tool and a slow spindle speed to create internal and external threads.

9. Finishing: Using a finishing tool and a slow spindle speed to produce a smooth surface finish.
